2:15-3:00 ISD Standards for Game Based Training: Analysis of Instructional Attributes of Different GameTypes
Terrell Chandler, Technical Director, Offerings and Products, SRA International
This session will describe ISD standards being developed for Game based training using the following parameters:
- Domain Pedagogy: What needs to be taught?
- Learner Level: What are instructional needs?
- Game Type: What are their instructional attributes?
The ISD approach is to derive the optimal simulation based training through mapping these parameters. Previously, primarily the cognitive aspects of this triad were covered. This session will associate instructional attributes to game classification system. Seven game types including: action, design, team, manipulation, technique, and negotiation are covered. A mapping between learner level and game instructional attributes will be made.
